Elorm Ama Governor-Ababio, popularly known as Ama Governor after years of denial by the Ghana Bar Association has officially been called to the bar as a professional law practitioner.
It would be recalled on October 18, 2023 that Ama Governor’s hopes of becoming a professional law practitioner was shattered after her entry was denied by the General Legal Council in a letter they issued to her and the public.
The GLC claims that on March 13, 2023, they received a letter directing them to keep an eye on Ama Governor’s actions as she waits to be summoned to the BAR, which they dutifully did.
It went on to say that following a meeting to conclude Ama Governor’s case in preparation for the October 20, 2023 event, they (GLC) had decided that she cannot be called to the BAR.
According to the letter, she did not live up to the expectations placed on her, and as a result, she is not eligible to be summoned to the BAR. The news amassed mixed reactions on social media.
In recent times, news reaching us has it that Ama Governor has finally been called to the BAR, as she is among the 181 candidates who have qualified for this esteemed legal ceremony, according to a list made public by the Director of the Ghana School of Law.
