Ghanaian Afro-Dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr., well known as Shatta Wale has declared his intentions to venture into politics.
The controversial dancehall crooner wishes to join the likes of Obour, and other veteran musicians who exited the music scenes to venture into politics.
Shatta Wale in his quest to become a great political leader stated that he has been advised by his father, Shatta Capo to take up a leadership role in politics because he has what it takes to become a proficient leader.
Shatta Wale believes that a journey like that requires him to better himself academically, hence he feels the need to go back to school.
He added that he needs the support of Ghanaians to be able to quit doing music in order to focus his attention on his new calling into politics and leadership.
“That is my dream that one day I will have to change Ghana. If the people of Ghana will support me, I will stand on my feet and leave the music”, he said.
He also stated that he will be turning forty anytime soon which makes him very eligible to venture the field of politics. He added that politics isn’t about the ability to utter good grammar but people who can navigate the system to better the country.
“I will be eligible to contest for the Presidency because in the next four years, I will be over forty years and we can change things. Politics is not about speaking big grammar. Ghana is not a big grammar country. I just need heads, people who can control the system”.
“But we have left this country. Ghana is not a country but rather an estate”, he said.
He also highlighted on the fact that Ghanaians should be treated equally irrespective of their background.
“Recently the Vice President’s wife’s family member went and pulled down someone’s building and it is normal. But that should not be the case. We should be equal people and that is what we need to develop this country,” he said.
