Popular Ghanaian gospel musician and producer, Marx Morris Twumasi, well known as Morris Babyface has opened up about some of the true intentions of some so-called gospel musicians in Ghana and across the world.
According to the sound engineer who has produced most of the well-known gospel tunes, most gospel musicians are not projecting the true identity of Chris or the gospel in their music as they have their own agenda for venturing into the gospel music fraternity.
He stated that most gospel musicians in Ghana and the world are only into the business for money and fame, not to spread the word of God through their music and touch lives through their music.
He recounted that he knows a hiplife musician who decided to switch sides and venture into the gospel music fraternity simply because secular music was not giving him the recognition or exposure he needed as well as the financial gains he desired.
“It’s not everyone who calls themselves a gospel singer that is a staunch born-again Christian or who want to do what Christ wants. I know someone that those days maybe they have recorded Hiplife but still not getting their breakthrough and can say that I’ll change and do gospel“, he said.
“So the mindset of the person isn’t a good one about doing a song in Christ to win souls but rather it’s about money and fame that’s why the person is doing gospel,” he added.
He described such gospel singers as very wicked people who are only into the craft for their own selfish gains and not to project the image of Jesus Christ to the world through their music.
“There are a lot of people who call themselves gospel musicians but are doing the same thing like this and do things anyhow and are so wicked,” he posited.
