Kumawood comic actor and producer, Kwadwo Nkansah Lil Win together with his Wezzy Empire have postponed the premiere of his latest franchise dubbed “A Country Called Ghana” in Sunyani.
This comes after the actor was involved in a fatal accident on Saturday, May 25, 2024, close to the Grace Baptist Church in Amakom, Kumasi. Videos of the actor’s wrecked Mercedes Benz were shared online, showing him being helped out of the vehicle by onlookers who saw the entire collision.
According to reports, a 3-year-old boy riding in the passenger seat of a Hyundai Santa Fe died after being taken to the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital following the severe crash. The father of the boy who was critically injured and is currently receiving treatment from medical experts.
Wezzy Empire has released a statement to announce the postponement of the premiere of their movie which was scheduled to be screened on Saturday, June 1 2024 in Sunyani.
In the statement they released, the actor and his team stated that the decision for the postponement of the movie is to mourn with the bereaved family of the young boy, Nana Yaw who perished in the accident.
The actor also apologized for his previous insensitive comments where he blamed the boy’s father for overspeeding. However, fans who have already purchased tickets for the screening of the movie in Sunyani have been assured that their tickets remain valid and can still be used for the next date they will communicate to the public.
